Friends of The Maryland Hoopmasters is one of Maryland's largest Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Youth Basketball Organizations in Carroll County. Founded in January 2001 it makes it one of the oldest AAU basketball organizations currently offering boys and girls basketball TEAMS & CAMPS for grades 4th[1]11th in the county. These young athletes represent the next generation of our community.
We rely on the support of local businesses like yours to help give every kid the chance to play the sport that they love. Sports teach our kids about the value of teamwork, dedication, and discipline while helping them build character, confidence, and friendships that will last a lifetime. As you may know, AAU basketball involves competitive tournament play nationwide. Participation in AAU affords our youth the opportunity to improve skills; gain experience playing a wide range of highly competitive teams and is observed by college coaches/recruiters early in their basketball careers. The entry fees for AAU tournaments range from $350 to $1200 per team per tournament.
Tournament, uniform, equipment and travel costs can make participation in the program cost prohibitive for some of our youth. Our objective is to make this opportunity available to all. Maryland Hoopmasters team members will be involved in various fundraisers to offset some of the costs; however, we are also dependent upon donations and sponsorships from companies and organizations such as yours.
With your help, we can be successful in preparing these talented players for the next level of high school/college basketball and positioning them for life. We are a nonprofit organization, run entirely by volunteers; therefore, donations in any amount will be appreciated.
